The Mészeg Hill, which rises on the border of Pákozd, has witnessed or been the scene of several war events in the last 400 years. In 1593, Pasha Hassan's defeated Turkish army was defeated by Hungarian knights on the outskirts of the village, and on September 29, 1848, the first victorious battle of the War of Independence took place in the vicinity of Mészeg Hill. A II. in World War I, from 1944, the area housed a section of the Margaret Line. It was an important military site during the period of the People's Army, also in peacetime, as the Hungarian People's Army celebrated it here in 1951-91. between the Armed Forces Day.
The area hosting historical events still provides a worthy environment for its military past. In 2010, on the Mészeg Hill, the Military Memorial Park Pákozd - National Memorial was completed, which traces the history of the Hungarian Armed Forces and its predecessors and the heroic struggle of our soldiers from 1848 to the present day.
The Park's four exhibitions and outdoor exhibition points are of interest not only to those interested in the military, but also in military history and our national past.
